VAT on newspapers and magazines
In Finland a new law has approved to levy value-added tax on newspapers and magazines. VAT of nine percent will be added to publication prices from the start of 2012. The transition to VAT will bring little action in the end of year.
However in Jaicom´s systems Cirix, Cirix II and Kayak the VAT handling has already been taken into account, ever since VAT came into force in Sweden about 15 years ago.
Furthermore SEPA transition period ended at the end of October and the associated software updates have been completed.
